Tomato frog question

Question
Hello,
After doing some research on taking care of tomato frogs I decided to take on one as a pet and have fallen in love with them. I recently bought another tomato frog (a baby) to keep my other frog company. I read that they are social and can be kept in pairs or groups, but my baby is a bit smaller than my other frog and Im not too sure about putting them together just now. I have the baby in one of those little plastic tanks with the lid and thats inside the larger frog tank (So maybe they can smell eachother and kinda get to know each other [not sure how all that works] and so the baby will keep warm). If I put the two tomato frogs together now will the larger one try to eat the smaller one? Because thats what Im worried about. Oh, and one more question, please? My larger frog doesnt seem to have a very large appetite. I know hes got to be warm in his tank and I dont think his bowels could be backed up or impacted. He seems okay because he puffs himself up and tries to jump away when I go to check on him. He spends alot of time buried which I read that they do. These are my first frogs and I usually keep reptiles so I want to make sure Im caring for them right.
Thank you for your time.

Answer
Without a thermometer in the enclosure and actually you need one on the cool side and the warm side to determine the temperature.  If the larger one can fit the smaller one in its mouth it may very eat it.  As far as the bigger one he could be going into hibernation as this time of year is when most animals are bedding down for winter so to speak.  I would check the heat and make sure you get thermometers that can give you the correct temperature to make sure that the temperature is right.
