Question
Hi Tracie, We got my son a leopard gecko for Christmas.  We set up the tank and she, Droon, was doing good until the last few days. We left her for a few days and on returning she is not eating for good.  She ate a cricket the first night we returned but has not eaten anything for 2- 3 days.  I removed all the uneaten crickets and mealworms from her tank and gave her new water again. She is have bowl movements but I am just concerned that some how she has gotten sick over the time we were gone for two days.  She is just not eating like she was before.  Please tell me what to do my son is very worried and I am too.  Thanks,  Regenia

Answer
Hello Reginia,

Sorry your leo is not doing well.
What type of substrate do you have Droon on?  Do you have a loose substrate or a solid substrate?
One thing though, crickets should never be left in the tank with a leo.  They will bite if they are left in to run around, & stress her.  The mealies are fine, since you can leave them in a little dish & normally they wont get out of the dish.
What do her stools look like?  The urates, are they hard or moist?
What type of setup do you have?  Do you have an undertank heater & a basking spot using either a basking light or a ceramic heat emitter?  What are the temps currently?
Does she have a cave or hide in there with some spaghnum moss moistened for humidity?

Let me know how she is doing.

Tracie
