schneiders skink

Hi Pam
My son has had a Schneider's skink, Lizzy, for 11 years.  We got it for him when he was 4.  He takes very good care of it.  My question is how long do they live?  We have been told 10-20 years but this seems like a large span.  We were hoping you could narrow it down a little.

They do live up to 20 years with good care.  This is also true of quite a number of reptile species.  Some lizards live much longer. Certain species of rock iguana last 40 years, and many crocodilians can live 100+ years.  And of course, the longest lived are various species of tortoise.
