Question
Hello,
My ball python is about to shed again but for some reason he wont eat before he is about to shed. is this normal? also i was wondering, my cage for him is about 110 degress farenheit on one side and about 65-75 degrees on the other. is it ok to have one side be this hot as long as he has the other side to cool down.

Answer
hey daniel,
The temp range in the cage sounds ok. The snake should move to the cold end if he is too warm and vice versa.

Most snakes wont eat before they shed. On a side note, if you feed him live mice, you should wait a day after he sheds, since the skin is still soft and he is more prone to being injured by the mouse.
