Fat belly, thin tail, squinting eyes? Eek!

Question
I just got back from college for break and one of my leopard geckos (which
my sister has been taking care of) looks drastically different. Her belly is
kinda fat now, her tail seems to have thinned dramatically, and she seems to
be constantly squinting. She doesn't respond to noises and hasn't moved
much. Also, she has not eaten in four days. What should I do and what do
you think might be the matter?

Answer
Hello Danny,

What type of lighting has been used on the leopard gecko?
What type of substrate is being used?
Is an undertank heater being used in conjunction with a low wattage basking bulb?
Has she had a stool since you have been home?  If so, what does it look like?
What has she been fed lately do you know?  She could be carrying infertile eggs, or if she is housed with a male gecko she could be carrying fertile eggs.
If her tail is getting thin, she definitely needs to get that fattened up some.  If you cannot get her to eat right now, try getting some turkey or chicken babyfood & use a plastic dropper or syringe to feed her carefully.

Let me know how how she is doing.
