Question
QUESTION: hello i just got a beardy yesterday and i have a 100w tight beam sun glo basking spot lamp it say on the box that it stimulates natural behavior through uva rays does that mean i need to get an additional light for uv.1im guessing yes but what kind should i get i prefer cheap lol. and i am geting a hydrometer what should it be set around.

ANSWER: Hello Cory,

Yes, unfortunately, the Sun Glo is just a basking light, so yes, you will need to get a UVB light.  You can get the Reptisun 10 tube light & place it directly beside the basking light for optimal basking area.
Here is a site where you can get the Reptisun 10 tube bulb for a great price:

The hygrometer you mean, to measure humidity?  The best range is 30-50% but NO higher than 50%.
Do you have a good digital probe thermometer to measure the basking temps with?

QUESTION: thanks for getting back with me umm yea its pretty good but i have been trying to lower the humidity and it wont go down it says its at 55 i need huge help with that.and what should the basking temp be at i have a card and it say between 75 and 85 that seems low

ANSWER: Hello Cory,

The basking temp needs to be between 95-110 so if you have a husbandry card that says 75-85 is way off.  So you are right, it is too low.
Do you have a water dish in the tank?  If so, where is it, on the warm or the cool side?
If you are going to keep a water dish in the tank, it's best to have it on the cool side so it doesn't expedite evaporation by being on the warm side.

QUESTION: um its in the middle of the ttank its a 20  gallon tank ok and i cant get the temp higher then 90

Answer
Hello Cory,

You will need to move the water dish to the cool end of the tank.  That should lower the humidity enough for him.
Are you using a digital probe thermometer or a temp gun to measure the temps with?
Is the basking light at one end of the tank?  It should be getting to the proper temps, especially in a 20 gallon tank.
