Green Anole not eating?

Question
I recently bought a Green Anole from a local pet shop, i am concerned his is not eating, i put reptile sticks in his habitat, but he seems to not touch them. Should I feed him something else such as crickets? and do Anoles even eat reptile sticks?

Answer
Dear Roger,
thank you for your question.
Anoles need live prey, they don't eat dead/not moving prey. The diet should be as varied as possible: crickets, flies (you can buy fly larvae as fish bait, keep them cool and put a few in a separate box to let them pupate in a warm place, the flies can be put in the fridge for 5 minutes to slow them down), locusts, waxmoths, mealworms (very fatty, only occasionally), roaches (green roaches, Panchlora nivea, can climb very well and are good anole food because they don't hide like other roach species).

I recommend a vet visit because herps bought in pet shops often have parasites, which can also cause a lack of appetite. Checking a fecal sample for internal parasites should be done at least once a year. Here are lists of herp vets:

I hope I was of some help to you
