Question
QUESTION: i have a high yellow who is very much like a leopard gecko.i am very concerned about him because his tail seems to be shrinking a little and he is starting to turn pinkish and he is starting to get a few of these extremely small dark red dots on him.i think he has a sort of rash.he will not eat or drink at all and hasn't came out of his cave for days, please oh please help me.

ANSWER: OK, "high yellow" isn't a species, it's color morph and I'm going to assume you have a high yellow leopard gecko...  You have a gecko which is off feed, and showing signs of some type of infection, which means you need to seek medical attention for the gecko.  Find a reptile vet and make an appointment TODAY!

QUESTION: in re to leapord geicko who is possibly displaying signs of infection...is it not possible that it is not infection but rather the temperture being cold, food that was disagreeable with him, being held too much etc...how can you make a diagnosis when you had minimal info.,? perhaps a website with more information on subject can be provided by you, rather than just assuming it is "life threatning to geicko".  ty.

Answer
Let's be very clear here.  I give advice based on the limited information available to me.

The info stated the gecko was not eating or drinking, was losing weight, and was turning pinkish w/ red spots...  I recommended veterinary care.  If for nothing else so that the vet could sit down w/ this person and her gecko, determine the problem, and suggest a course of care to correct it.  I believe the gecko has an infection, I can't make a diagnosis as I am not a vet.  I give her the best advice I could.

Based on the info I had Katey did not even know she owned a leopard gecko!!!  Perhaps a visit w/ a medical professional would help her and her "high yellow" out?!?!?!

Further, if you're going to come on here and second guess me, at least learn how to spell GECKO.
