my blue tongue lizard

im only 15 and i have a blue tongue lizard named maverick i just spent nearly $200 on making him more comfortable but he stays in his new log most of the time he does come out but rarely. I was also wondering what kind of live food can i feed him that will give him a chase and some...fun (like a grasshopper or little mice) but he is only 32cm long and weighs about 50g or more

 Farm raised crickets or grasshoppers of appropriate size for his age, or roaches are swift moving and liked by these lizards.  Check proper lighting, if you are using a compcy UVB, he may be hiding for his own health.  Compacts are lethal and should never be used.
