Question
Hi, My geckos eyes are shut from shedding his skin i have been washing them with warm water but i noticed that one of his eyes had been bleeding. I have called my vets but they will not give me advice over the phone

Answer
Hello,

Leos typically suffer from hypovitaminosis A and eye problems are the most frequent signs.
You have to be carefull with this because, whether this is the cause or not, if theydont open their eyes they dont eat and will waste away.
This may also be a sign of a very sick gecko and therefore your vets or an exotic veterinarian would need to see your gecko as advice over the phone may be misleading and end in teagec problems.

If you are worried and it is not clearing up then ideally take your gecko to the vets. Best case scenario would be that you walk away with some drops and it all clears up but if there is something more sinister going on then it will be picked up sooner.
