Question about tortoises

I know of one; gopher tortoise. They live in my neighborhood.
Is there any other turtles out there that we call tortoises?

Well, tortoises and turtles are different as are Terrapins. Turtles are primary Aquatic, Tortoises are Primary Land, and Terrapins are half and half so to speak as they are taxonomically known anyone.
