Shipping Bearded Dragons

Question
How do you ship a baby bearded dragon?? How do you package them?

Answer
Hello Kristy,

How big is the dragon you are wanting to ship?  I don't recommend shipping a dragon any smaller than 7-8 inches as they are too fragile.
Otherwise, you need to get a small box with a towel lined in the bottom of it so he/she wont be shuffled around too much.  Make sure there is adequate ventilation in the small box & that it is close enough quarters that he/she can't slide around much at all.
Then put that smaller box in a larger one with newspaper or cardboard to keep that box from moving around any.  The idea is to keep the smaller box stable when being shipped.  Put a layer of foam underneath the smaller box when you sit it in the larger box for cushioning.
If the temps are too hot, you may need to wait as he could get overheated.  If the temps are moderate, then you can always put a couple of SMALL heat packs on the outside of the small box not inside of it so he wont get overheated.
Inevitably he/she will cool off, but as long as it is not freezing outside right now, then he/she will be fine.

I hope that helps.
