Question
QUESTION: hello, my name is Danielle. i have a 7 year old female spiny tailed lizard. she is very ill so my dad and i took her to the vet and they gave her antibiotics. she has lost a lot of weight and has swollen eyes. i think i can feel some kind of mass in her stomach, but that might just be the food she has eaten. she hasn't gone to bathroom for 2 days. do you think its a tumor or a blockage of food in her digestion system? i am sure it doesn't have to do with anything in her environment. she has a uvb heat lamp and gets fed collagreens. Her bedding is a reptile cloth please answer ASAP. thank you!

ANSWER: Hi make sure the temp in ur tank is at least 100 degrees on one side.  80 degrees on the other side. He should be on a diet of ALLkinds of leafy green salad. Not just collard greens. That could be the problem!!!  Try getting an eye dropper. Fill it with pedialyte and force feed  Also try blending up leafy green salad and use the eye dropper method. If the lizard stops eating he will surely dehydrate. What exactly did the vet tell u??  Please let me know what happens. Good luck

Answer
Hi Danielle.  I've been researching ur lizards problem.  U mentioned that she is female. Perhaps she is gravid. This means she may have eggs inside of her. A male does not need to be present for this to happen. I am very concerned that she may have a serious blockage. Another thing u can try is giving her a warm bath. Water helps them eliminate. Try to do this for 5-10 minutes. Maybe she will go to the bathroom. Make sure to dry her thoroughly before returning her to her enclosure.  Please keep me posted. My direct email is cathycat27@gmail.com. Again, good luck
