Mali Uromastyx problems

Question
Hey Tracie, i have a male Mali Uromastyx that i rescued about 7 or 8 months ago. The woman i bought him off of said he is about 4 years old. I did a lot of research on how to make hides, and i decided to make min out of two bricks and a tile. When me and my dad first put the light over the tank we noticed the light wasnt creating enough heat. we decided to put it in the corner of the tank over his brick hide. now about a week ago i took my lizard out from his hide and noticed he had some big blisters on his neck, back, and beggining of his tail. i moved the light back on top, and he still has blistewrs. i gave him warm baths trying to help him shed, maybe making the pop, but nothing is working.
What do i do?

thank you

Answer
Hello Quaid,

Can you post a picture or two of him?
What are the temperatures in the tank for his basking light?  Are you using a UVB light also?
What type of thermometer do you use, a stick on type, a digital probe or a temp gun?
The basking temperatures should be in a range from 120-130 or so but they do need UVB exposure too regularly.
The blisters could be caused by too high of humidity maybe or him rubbing against something, or getting too hot, I am not sure.
How far is the light away from him?
Try some aloe vera gel, or thermazene cream which you can get from Amazon.com
