Reptiglo 5.0 for RES turtle

Is the Reptiglo 5.0 coil bulb safe for a RES turtle? I'm being told that the tube kind is better but then i read that the tubes are bad,so which is it?

A Reptiglo 5 coil bulb is relatively weak, so it would be "ok", however, it will not be very effective in giving your turtle good enough UVB exposure to avoid metabolic bone disease.  I would recommend the Reptisun 10 flourescent tube bulb as the better choice for UVB.
Most of the coils/compact lights are either hazardous due to the low wavelength UVB or just plain weak to where they produce next to no UVB emissions at all.
