Question
hi, i have a leopard gecko and he (i thinks its a male) is very active, whenever i walk up to his cage he comes out of his hide with wide eyes and moves excitedly. but if my hand gets near him he lunges at it like food. i think its put of curiosity, not meanness. he is about a year old (3-5 inch) and i was wondering if he could draw blood with a bite.  i also wanto know (you probably get this alot) will he drop his tail easily? i realy dont want him to. i dont hand feed him i just drop the mealworms and crikets in the cage.  and is dusting the crickets necesary?
i hope u can help.

Answer
Hello Jake,

They can bite yes, but it normally is not too bad.  Are you feeding him enough?  :-))
Yes, he does need the crickets to be dusted regularly, say 3 times per week for an adult.
Will he let you pick him up at all?  Usually they will not drop their tail unless they are very fearful or get scared & feel threatened.
