laying eggs?

One of my lizards is suddenly digging around the cage excessively. Neither of them have ever been that active. Possibly preparing to lay eggs? Also- I thought that this was a male lizard because it is so much bigger than the other. Could it just be suddenly active?

Hi. What kind of lizards do u have??  Beardeds?? Uros??  It's not really breeding season. But i need more info on ur lizards. Do u have a hiding spot for ur lizard??  Also this time of year most lizards slow down
Maybe he/she is looking for a place to sleep. Lizards require more sleep as we approach winter. Sorry I couldn't help more.
