bearded dragon tail curl

Question
what does it mean when their tails are up and my other question is what does it mean when they move their arm in a circular motion

Answer
The tail curl happens when they are awake and active and running around.  In Australia, where the beardie has many predators, having the tail up assists in keeping speed up.  Beardie's tails do not drop like iguanas and geckos, so no diversion for the predator.
Arm waving and bobbing are beardie communication.  Arm waving is a sign of peace, not combative, willing to give ground.  Juveniles and females do this more than adult males but even males to this to show that he will not attack, like when meeting a female.
