Bearded dragon Eye issues

Question
My bearded dragon Spyro went to the vet recently because he was keeping his eye closed and it looked swollen and had a little purple bag underneath it. She prescribed the Terramycin ointment. I've been doing the treatment for almost two week and he's been peeping the eye open occasionally but the majority of the time he's keeping it closed. When she rinsed the eye there was nothing in it either, I went to Banfield. Should I try another vet or should I keep doing the Terramycin.

Additional Details.
1.) UV Bulb- Reptiglo 10.0 Uv *If I didn't grab the wrong box we just recently changed the bulb*
2.) Hot side 100
3.) cold side 72
4.) Non-sand substrate (we just switched a month ago)
5.) Water dish for bathing
6.) Humidity 40

He is eating like usual. Still very picky about his greens but he eats them.

Any help is appreciated.

Answer
Hi Leighann, If its been less than 2-3 weeks since the vet visit, I would continue with the prescribed ointment or call the vet and ask him/her if Gentamicin may be a better choice.Of course if you aren't comfortable with the vet that you used, by all means, get a 2nd opinion!!
On your uvb light, is this one of the compact bulbs?  If yes, it may be bothering your beardies eyes. There was a problem with the compact bulbs causing what amounts to snow blindness.  The bad bulbs were suppose to be removed from the shelves but there may still be some out there,  You can call the company to see if the one you have might be a bad one, but only if it is one of the compact ones. Also the spiral ones may cause problems since they hang down straight instead of overhead. When they are straight down, the BD is basically forced to look directly at it.
Its good he eats his greens.  You are a good owner!! You give him greens and with your care info, you are doing well. You may want to up the basking temperatures to a gradient of 95-105..
