Question
I will be moving from Memphis, TN to Tampa FL around the end of October.  What is the safest way to transport the lizards? My concern is keeping them warm.  I will drive for about 8 hrs..get a hotel for the night...and continue the drive the next morning.

Answer
Hello Donna,

That is a bit of a move, isn't it?  We lived in Tampa for a year before heading out to this area where we are now.
Well, I wouldn't worry too much about keeping them warm.  How long of a drive is it, hour wise?  Maybe 16 hours total?
Bearded dragons travel very well.  The best thing is to not feed them, for the duration of the trip, but, do offer water of course.  You could get one of those inverters which convert AC/DC electricity in your vehicle via your cigarette lighter device.  Just plug it in & it will charge up devices.  So, you could get a few little heating pads to put underneath of a carrier such as a mesh cat or dog carrier.
Line the bottom of the carrier with their blankie or a towel & put the heating pad on LOW underneath the towel or blankie.  That will keep them comfortable.  Make sure to turn on their favorite songs.  LOL

Overall, as long as they are somewhat confined so they cann't get under things in the car, they will travel perfectly fine.

Let me know how things go.
