Well, how did they get tail rot?
Are they housed together?  If so, they need to be separated immediately.
The way to prevent it is to house separately & prevent tail biting, & tail injury.  If the tail is bitten or injured, it always needs to be watched closely for infection.  It is when the infection travels upward on the tail, is when the tail becomes necrotic.  It is quite dangerous as the infection can become systemic & they can eventually die.
Have you gone to a vet for treatment?
