Little leopard gecko

I just got a 3 inch juvenile leo. I need to know when i will be able to tell if it's a boy or girl and how to keep it ultimately healthy. I am 10 so i can't do that many things. SHe/he has a heat pad under the cage, a warm hideout and a cool moist one and a water dish. She is currently on a clean bath towel. this will only be temporary. We will get her reptile carpet. I need some feeding advice. Thanks!

The juvenile of 3 inches, it will be awhile until you can tell the sex of the leopard gecko.  Probably not until he or she is at least 5-6 inches in length, will you be able to tell the sex of it.  

Using a heating pad or undertank heater on one end of the tank along with a low wattage basking bulb.  She will need a basking temperature of around 88-90 on one end with a cool area of 78-82 on the other end.
The bath towel is fine, for the substrate that will be nice & soft.  You can change to the reptile carpet or paper towels whichever you prefer.

You can feed small tiny crickets, or phoenix worms that you can get online.  Also, mealworms are often fed to leopard geckos, also.  Do you plan on using a calcium supplementation too?
