Question
can handling my snake (ball python) be harmful to my unborn child?
do you know of any websites i can get information on this question?

Answer
The only zoonotic disease we worry about with reptiles and people is salmonella.  Even that one is mostly confined to lizards and turtles (and is much more rare than the media makes it out to be).  So I would NO you have very little if not nothing to worry about.  If you have cats you do need to stay away from their feces as it can carry a disease which can harm your baby.  Hopefully your OBGYN told you about that one.
