Question
QUESTION: I would like to know what type of basking lamp i need for 7 wk old beared dragon? I have UVB lamp half the size of our tank and does that need to be opposite end of basking lamp? Can you advise me on heat mats also.

This is all new to me and i want to get it right but i feel like i get told something <A style="cursor:pointer;" onmouseover="window.status=''; return true" href='http://searchseeking.com/?query=different+every+time '>different every time</A> i look on the <A style="cursor:pointer;" onmouseover="window.status=''; return true" href='http://searchseeking.com/?query=net '>net</A>, i don't want my son or our new addition to the family (BD) to be disappointed

ANSWER: Heat and UVB should provided on the same side.  Optimal temperature in the basking spot is 110F, cool side should be in the 80's.  Heat mats are fine, they go under the glass on the outside of the tank.  Never feed him anything that would not fit between his eyes if you set it on his head and don't forget the greens!  All lights off at night.  Good luck!

QUESTION: Thank you so much for your speedy reply! It has been a great help.
Can you tell me what type of basking lamp i need as this is the part i'm stuck on???

Thanks again :)

Answer
You need one which provides UVB and the probably the highest wattage available.  I liked the "Power-Sun UVB" bulb when I was doing dragons, but I don't even know if they make that one anymore.  Reptisun makes some good products too.  Contact LLLReptiles.com and ask for help, they are good people.
