Question
QUESTION: Hello, I need to add more calcium to my CWDs' diet. I dont like the dust. I have tried the little dusting cans and all kinds of stuff like that and its always a mess and just such a hassle. Is there another way for my two CWDs to get the calcium they need from something other then the cricket dust? Like a vitamin to feed the crickets? because I breed my own. What else can I do? They are both about 18 inches and male. (don't worry I know about males and territoy and fighting. They get along good and I JUST got them sexed last night. So I am working on building a new enclosure just in case.)

ANSWER:   You can either ask your vet for a liquid calcium and dose them per his instructions, or feed your crickets a good high calcium diet.  Cricketfood.com Advanced Cricket Food contains a lot of fantastic ingredients that will benefit your water dragons.

QUESTION: I feed my crickets a gut load made by Zilla It says Gut Load Cricket and Insect Food. And it says it has 2.0% calcium. Is that sufficient? Or do I need to buy something else special? Thanks again

Answer
I have never used the Zilla product, but I would add a high calcium veggie for their moisture needs, Like a chunk of winter squash or sweet potato.  You can even grind up Cheerios or Total cereal to beef up the nutrition content of the gutload.  That's why I prefer Cricketfood.com's products.  That stuff has always kept my feeder insects fat and healthy, and packed with nutrition for my reptiles.
