Adopted Bearded Dragon

Question
My husband and i recently adopted a bearded dragon today from a pet store. They were for sale for $4.00 we thought that was a great price, and then we noticed all the lizards had some legs, arms, toes missing, and the seller said it was due to all the beardes fighting. When we got our lizard home, we put it in our cage with another lizard the same size as him, and he kept lifting his front arms and making them go in a circle, kind of how a camelion walks sometimes. We were wondering why he does this? is it due to lack of calcium?
The cage he will be staying in is a perfect living environment, right heat, food, water, climing logs, and shelter.
Why would he be doing that with his arms?
please get back to me.
Thanks, Cassie

Answer
Hello Cassandra,

Well, what he is doing is a submissive arm wave action.
I highly suggest putting him a tank by himself.  He has already had a rough start to life by losing limbs, etc he doesn't need more stress by being housed with another lizard.  It is usually best not to mix species, as well.  What type of lizard did you put him in with?  How old is he?
What type & brand of UVB light are you using, is it a flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil light?
What type of basking light are you using?
What are you measuring the temps with in the tank?  A stick on thermometer, a digital probe or a temp gun?
