Question
My bearded dragon turned jet black from under his chin to the end of his neck;is
listless and won't eat. He doesn't revive himself in his bath either- help! Is this
common in a 15 year old sick bearded or does it sound like he is dying? I will
take him to an emergency vet/reptiles in am but its in NYC and I am one hour
away-does it sound fixable as It is going to be expensive!

Answer
Does it sound "fixable"?

I realize that this situation might have already resolved one way or the other already, but for the benefit of those others out there who may read in the future...Do the responsible thing and pay for the vet! Let the vet decide that question. Do not wait for an answer from the internet when your animal is probably dying!!! No other way to say it.

It is your responsibility as a pet owner, and the life of an animal that has given you so many years should not be a toss up as to how cheap you can get out of it. Your talking maybe $30-$60 for a simple office fee, and with meds and some simple tests, probably around $100-$150. Seems reasonable to me.
