ANSWER: Hello Dee,

Can you post a picture of your dragon?  How old is your dragon?
Please tell me your setup.  What type of lighting are you using?
What type & brand is it?  A flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil light?  How old is the UVB light?
What type of basking light do you use?
What do you use to meausre the temps, a stick on thermometer, a digital probe or a temp gun?
Do you use calcium supplementation?
If he has MBD, he will need a good quality UVB light & some liquid calcium.
What do you feed him?

Answer
Hello Dee,

Well, there are a few things we need to review on your setup.
What type of UVB light did you have prior to this one?
The basking light, is it a bright white light or a colored light?
The UVB that you have, is an ESU, is not a good UVB light.  Here is a chart which gives you information about how little UVB it puts out.  They need much more emissions of UVB than from that particular bulb.  I recommend getting a Reptisun 10 flourescent tube bulb.
Here is the first chart showing the ESU results from the UVB meter:

To compare, here is a chart to show you the results of the Reptisun 10 flourescent tube bulb:

Good that you are cutting out the mealies, they are not very nutritious so try maybe phoenix worms as a different feeder along with the crickets.  Waxies are fatty so only feed a few at a time, a couple of times per week.

You don't need a heating pad if you have enough basking heat from overhead.  They do better with overhead heating & lighting than from underneath.  The basking temps need to be around 95-110, & the cooler end around 78-82.  Do you mean the ambient or average temps in the tank are 80?

Let me know how things are going.
