hermit crab

i have found a hermit crab and i Im wondering if i could keep it?? wat is a hermit crab a wild animal or what??? how do i know what kind of crab i have?

Hermit crabs are found in the wild, and I would recommend releasing it if you do not know how to care for it already. Some are demanding and a bit hard to keep unless you have the proper tank, salt water, food, etc. I am not strictly a hermit crab expert though, so you may want to ask someone else. As a wildlife rescuer though, I never like to hear of people picking things up and trying to keep, when they don't know anything about them. It's irresponsible and unfair to the animals which may have to pay the price.
