QUESTION: Hi,
Thank you for the last amswer.  I have another question regarding the
heating of my tank. I have one small under tank heater (placed underneath
one hide.  I also have a 75 watt incandescent day white light bulb and a 75
watt moonlight bulb for my 20 gal long.  What kind of thermometer should I
use in order to check the ground temperature of my tank?  Also how many
geckos could I fit in there if they are all females?
Thank you

ANSWER: HI Nawshaer,
What works the best is either a temperature gun ( www.reptileuv.com ) or the thermometers that have the wire with a probe on the end of it.  You can either hang or tape the probe to the floor of the tank.
With a 20 gallon tank, you don't want to put any more than 2 leos in it.  They really do need the room and the space...personally, I don't even like having two in a 20 gallon tank but its fine. You will need to watch them to make sure they have no issues with each other like biting each other or one keeping the other from the food dish, warm area, humid hide, etc. If you see than happening, you will have to give each one their own tank.
The small undertank heaters cover about 1/3 of the tank, if I remember right. Be sure to place your humid hide on that side also.  The only thing you really need on the warm side is a dry hide and the humid hide.

QUESTION: Hello...again,
Thank for the last answer.  That really helped me out.  I have yet another
question regarding the heating of my tank at night.  I have a 76watt moonlight
bulb.  Is it okay if I leave it on all night every night?
Thank You

Answer
Hi Nawshaer,
Glad to be able to help you!!
As to your moonlight bulb, yes, you can leave it on all night long.  Just be sure that your leo still has the cooler temperatures on the one end of his tank, especially at night.  You may have to drop down to a 50 watt moonlight bulb...also, be sure to leave your undertank heater on 24 hours a day.
