Question
Hello, I have a red tail boa who is about 3 feet long and a little less then a year old. I was told that I should feed her once every two weeks and have been doing so with live prey. Now I am being told to feed her once every week and have tried to do so with frozen prey but she will not take the food on the second week so I am going through a lot of rats. I usually feed her in the bath tub with about an inch of worm water with the lights off and i just don't know what to do to get her to eat more. I can't wait to hear back from you thanks so much!

Answer
At a year old once every 7-10 days is what I preach, in practice I'd probably be closer to every 10-14 days.  I don't really understand the bathtub/water feeding, but if it works... whatever!  Live rats are more interesting than freshly stunned rats are more interesting than freshly killed rats are more interesting that frozen...  The danger to the snake goes in the other direction.  Make sure the prey item is as big as the snake at the snake's BIGGEST point, eating bigger can work just as well as eating more often.
