Question
I have an appt for my dog to be fixed and I feel real bad about doing it. He is an 11mo pit bull and he is beautiful. Is it really best to have this done? He is already such a good boy he is non aggressive and so sweet.Help me out here.

Answer
Hi Tishauna.  If you do not plan on showing or breeding your Pit Bull, this it is best to have him neutered.  In normal circumstances, your male dog is non-aggressive and very sweet, however; if you ever take him some place (or if he accidently got lose) and discovered a female dog that is in heat, he could become very aggressive.

Don't misunderstand me, I am not talking about Pit Bills becoming aggressive around females in heat, I'm talking about all breeds of dogs.  Your boy will not miss his testicles, and will be much happier and relaxed without them.  Dogs do not have the same feelings about this procedure than humans.

Good luck, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,
