-----Question-----
I have a female from Lansing and I can't get the two dogs to breed. The female with stand in front of my male and flag and he will walk past her like she didn't exist. She wants to breed and he won't even touch her. The first day she was here we left them alone and he did very good he was trying to mount and she was standing still and everything, but now he won't mount her. As far as I know they haven't tied. He woudn't loose interest even if they did tie would he? I have bred him before to a female and they only tied once and she had 11 pups. this female has been here twice now and she is here with me right now. I am so serious, like she will stand in front of him and flag and my male will ignore her. I have tried A.I. and it has been a waste of money becuase it hasn't worked. I know he can breed becuase he has. WHAT DO I DO?? I am at my wits end.

Hi Essay

Here's the problem as I see it. You left them alone and didn't witness anything.  Could be that you male DID mount her but she either broke the tie, or attacked him and the result was the male was injured. And now wants nothing more to do with her or

B) she is not ready to be bred -- even though she is flagging your male, you may have missed her optimum breeding time. Personally, I have a female that will flag and breed at the beginning of her heat but does ovulate until the end.  If your male is a proven producer he should know when the female is ready.

The best thing to do is a swab or smear on your female to determine when her "prime time" is.

If the male is not interested, you can hold the female and assist the male in making a tye.

Good luck.

Answer
So exactly....what day is she?

At 7 days she isn't ready for breeding, USUALLY breeding takes place between the 10 and 15th day from first bleeding.  This is a common mistake that people make and the leading cause of unsuccessful mating .... timing.

For this particular female I would suggest a smear or swab it will save you AND your male heartache and frustration.
