Pregnant Scottie

Hello Renee. I have a question. I am consern about my Scottie. She is 5 weeks pregnant as of September 13. Since Friday the 7th when i took her to the vet to confirm her pregnancy she started to have diahreah daily and is being picky with her food. Vet went ahead and gave her the rabies shot, she said it was ok. Since 3 days ago or so she also will potty this yellow gel like (not vaginal discharge) i am guesing. She also trew up vile once yesterday and twise at night =[ What can this be?

I have to say that I'm a little stunned that the vet would vaccinate a pregnant bitch. Some may feel differently, but that's something that I would not do. I would have her checked for coccidia. You need to try to catch it before it gets worse. If it's not that, check for Giardia. If it's coccidia, the stool will have a really funky odor to it. You need to get this under control for the sake of the puppies, fast. If it is coccidia, you may need to treat the puppies when they're about 6-7 weeks of age. This could turn into an emergency fast, so I recommend you getting her to the vet ASAP. Good luck!
