Question
Our llasa has only one surviving pup.  Now at 2 weeks, we are wondering how do we socialize him as he gets older?  Are there are any special needs for a single pup?

Answer
My very first litter was a singleton. In my experience, you don't really have to do a whole lot extra. Make sure he spends plenty of time with mom, and with other dogs when he gets older. He needs plenty of human interaction, starting now. He won't have siblings to play with, so you'll have to teach him when he plays too rough. You want to really make sure he gets enough canine exposure. You don't want him to grow up not knowing he's a dog. A trick that I did learn, if you have any other dogs at home, when he gets a bit older, let him play with them. Older dogs are pretty good at teaching puppies how to act.
