4 week pregant bitch has mucous discharge

i have a 3yr old female pit bull, she has had 2 previous litters from a previous owner. She was very unwilling to breed during her heat, but we had 2 successful ties with our stud. she has been limited to non strenuous activity for the last few weeks, and on at the beginning of the week her eating habits changed, she has formed some breast tissue in her back 4 teats, and her uvula is still swollen from heat. her expected whelp is on dec 20th. yesterday, as she was eating, i noticed a long stringy dark brownish mucous coming from her uvula. she is acting normal, other than sleeping alot, which is normal for pregnancy. I am just wondering if i should be concerned or if its normal.
any help/advice you can offer would be nice, and if you need more detail, please ask!

this color discharge at this stage of her pregnancy is not normal and should be seen by the vet. even if she appears to be normal in other ways take her in to have her checked out. there could either be a problem with your female or the pups or there could be no problem at all. i cant give any more advice because i feel the best thing is to have her checked out. i really hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
