Question
QUESTION: I have a 2 year old Siberian husky and tonight she seems very weird. shes panting whining and just laying around. If she is in early labor 2 weeks before shes due could it hurt her or the puppies? i have been sitting up with her i won't leave her alone. I am worried.

ANSWER: Hi Dawn. Two weeks premature is way to early. Puppies would not survive. She may just be complaining, some girls do this. I'm aware that Siberian Huskys are known for it. However, just to be safe, I'd take her to the vet for a check up. To make sure she's not starting labor on you. Good luck!

QUESTION: I have seen some clear discharge..is this normal? The vet said she is Due December. 16. but we bred her October 6 and 63 days from that is December. i was wondering if you could help me with/ her due date. I'm lost in this situation. we bred her October 6 2007. thanks...

Answer
Clear discharge is ok. If it ever turns to any colored discharge before the birth of the first puppy, take her to the vet fast. If she was bred on Oct. 6th, then she would be due on Dec. 6th. Only 10 days to go. A dog can safely deliver at 58 days, so if she makes it to the 1st, then they should be ok.
