Question
i have just bought 2 guinea pigs this morning and they are very shy, i know it
is normal for them to be timid within the first few moths. but i was just
hoping to gain some advice n how to  gain their trust. is it best to hold them,
or try to?? or just stroke them for now???

thanks

Answer
Hi Lilly

You can do a mixture of both

If they are very timid then just stroke them gently and talk in a nice tone

And as they progress i would hold them
Some tips that you may find useful are that i have found that handfeeding them treats will get them to know that you are not going to hurt them.

Also constant stroking or handling everyday will also help

But before you pick them up give them a treat and a pat and then hold them
In know time you should have freindly little guinea Pigs

Sorry for the wait
