Question
Does the momma guinea pig need help in delivering the baby(ies) and is all they need is the momma's milk for first 4 weeks?

Answer
Hi Jennie,

Yes, the mother nurses her weaning young for 4 weeks usually.  She will not need assistance in delivering her young unless she appears to be in distress for half an hour without a sign of a pup, in which case she must be brought to a vet, or unless she ignores the babies and refuses to remove their thick amniotic sac immediately after delivery - in which case you must step in and do it for her.  Otherwise, let nature take its course.  Guinea pigs can make very good mommies and usually know exactly what to do on their own.

Thank you for your question, I hope I have been of some help to you.  If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  Good luck with your guinea pig (=
