QuestionHi, I am wondering if GPs swim, if so, would it be a good exercise for them?
Thank you!
Pauline
AnswerHello Pauline and THANK YOU for the question,
I say "THANK YOU" because, frankly, I had to FIND the answer myself. You think you know a lot about something and bam someone makes you learn more. Thanks.
After looking in all my books I found NOTHING on the subject. I use the books before the WWW as you have to test the "validity" of the WWW sources.
I found these pages:
http://www.oginet.com/pgurney/swimming.htm

Though Peter Gurney is THE expert on GPs in Great Britain, I am more inclined to believe that GPs CANNOT swim. Easily panicked, I believe that a GP would kick and sink before actually swimming. I also think, per Mr. Gurney, you COULD teach a GP to swim but it would take considerable time and effort and may put undue stress on the nervous animal.
Thanks and I hope this helps,
Good luck if you try (let me know what happens)!
Ryan
