Question
Where did you find this information? I am very concerned with this as I have bred many sows many times and never lost one. I am not disputing your claim as of yet. I am more just concerned for the health of my females if what you say is true.

Thank you VERY much,
Ryan

Answer
I have heard this from many experts and have lost many females due to pregnancy. There are many other things your sow can get durring pregnancy and she can DIE. You are only risking their lives. I am not saying that you are bad ,but you are adding to the over populated population! I hope this may change you perspective on Breesing your guinea pigs.
Here are some qusetions that you can answer

How old is your sow? Is she Past 8 months?
*you are putting your sow at GREAT risk when breeding her after 7 months.
Is your sow healthy? Is She over weight?
If your sow is over weight you are putting her ar the risk of heart attack and MANY other horrable things can happen!
Do you have a vet? you ahould have a vet a 24 houre emergency vet incase she needs a c-section that can cost near $200.

So do you want to still breed your guinea pigs

Well if you do do you know if she will even take care of them!

What will you do with the babies? Taking them to a pet shop is really called DUMPING when you ask the real guinea pig lovers.

Before breeding your sows anymore see this site and look at the pictures and read .It is a really good site

If you don't want to breed them anymore and maby still want babies then you can adopt a pregnant sow from a shelter! :)

If you have anymore qusetions qust ask me

I am very sorry that I sounded so MEAN :( sorry
but I know people that allow their sows to live freely with males and allow them to breed including back-breedings.
I am very sorry
