Question
my guinea seems to have gotten a few pieces of pine shavings stuck up in her vagina.   Due to this, there is now a white substance (puss)up inside her and even though I removed the pieces of shavings and cleaned her out as best as I could with Q-tips soaked in warm water...I am so worried for her.  and all this time I thought she was a boy!!  should I switch to care fresh the soft litter?  I am so worried!

you should take her to a vet because she probably has an infection now because of the pine being up there and irritating her private area. You should also switch to something else like carefresh or soft sorbent immediently. Pine and ceder beddings are not good for small animals becuase it causes liver and lung diseases as well as respiratory problems. I would switch to one of the two I mentioned above. I use carefresh and I really like it. I have heard that many people prefer soft-sorbent bedding for guinea pigs because it absorbs more odor. Good luck and keep me posted.
