Question
My son's guinea has given birth proximately 1 week ago i have managed to sex all three of the babies and they are all girls so i wont need to separate them from mum just yet, but i would like to know what age they need to be before they can be separated. I also have another pregnant guinea a pig in the cage with mum and her 3 babies are they alright to stay in hate cage together. Thanks Rebecca, Brisbane Australia.

Answer
Hello Rebecca,
since the guinea pigs are all girls you don't have to seperate them unless there's not enough room to keep them all in. At 4 weeks of age you can seperate them if you want to. Personally, I would seperate the pregnant until after she gives birth just so the other piggies won't disturb her, once she has given birth and she seems okay, I think it would be okay to put them all back together.
