What Happened???

Hi Kat,
As you may remember this is Tyler who told you my guinea pig, Chico, stopped eating. This morning unfortunantly we found her dead in her cage. Why did this happen? She was 100% fine four days ago! Did her stomach stop moving as you said?

I am so sorry. Yes, that's likely what happened. When piggies stop eating for too long, their tummies actually rupture. Since it had been a few days since she stopped eating, it's very possible that's what killed her. Unfortunantly just a bit of stress or mild illness can cause them to stop eating and then that leads to problems. I'm so sorry you lost her. I'm going to send you a link to a website that may help you feel a bit better. It's for making memorials to beloved pets who have crossed the bridge. Again, I'm so sorry and you are in my thoughts.
