Question
QUESTION: We have one piggy who was very skittish when we got him, but he has gotten alot better. for some reason he has started to bite. When we try to pick him up to hold him or even to just pet him he tries to bite and has been successful it bitting so hard that he has drawn blood on our 7 year old. What can we do?
ANSWER: Hi Tina

Can you tell me if your pig particular tries to bite when you put food in his cage?

I have a suspicion that his teeth might need looking at, but let me know the answer to my question and i will advise further.

QUESTION: Andy,
This bitting problem is anytime we try to put our hand in her cage. It doesn't matter if we have food or not.

Answer
Hi

It sounds like your pig might be "food aggressive". I must stress that he isnt biting due to being aggressive. I have one suggestion. Try putting the food dish at the other end of the hutch to what you usually lean in to pick him up/stroke him. The idea is to remove the association between your hand and the food. I hope that makes sense.
