sick lil guineas

Hi, I have had my pig for a lil while now but a coupe of weeks ago there was a scab or what looked like one, on her back and now i checked it again and it's a lil bigger and red,with back like edges around the red mound thing.. and no hair can grow through it so it a lil bald spot it's really small....smaller then a dime...but i dont know what it is or what i should do about it do you have any suggestions?

Hello Katie and thanks for the question,

It sounds like an "abcess". GPs will get them from time to time and they are quite normal. The BEST thing to do in this case is to give your pet a "check-up" (nails, fur, teeth, ears inspection) and get her into the vet.

If she has had the condition for awhile and it is getting worse (or at least not getting better), a vet can get her diagnosed and treated with a GP safe antibiotic (NO PENNICILYN!). She should start healing within 48 hours.
