Injury

Hi,

I just bought a guinea pig from the store. He came with a mark on his head, you cannot see it, but it is under all his fur. It looks like an injury that may be healing. Is it okay to keep him?

Answer
If it appears to be healing there's no reason to worry. He could have gotten a scrape from something, but it doesn't sound like a bite wound as those are usually on the backside of the top of the back. As long as he's eating and acting okay he should be just fine.
