Is my teddy bear guinea pig pregnant? what are some symptoms and what will she look like? How long will my guinea pig be pregnant(on average) until she gives birth!!

Hi Dani,

If your guinea pig has come into contact with any males then she's very likely to be pregnant! The symptons are very similar to those seen in a pregnant human; eating and drinking more, putting on weight (on either side of her tummy), and being a bit grumpy!

She'll be pregnant for 68-72 days and in the later stages of her pregnancy you'll be able to see the shape of the babies and feel them moving around. Do not handle her unnecessarily during this stage as it will cause her discomfort.

If she's under sixth months old there shouldn't be any problems with the pregnany or birth, but if you have any questions about to do when the babies come - just ask!
