Question
HI jules,my baby male guinea pig is 2 weeks old and he is already trying to mount his sisters, can i seperate him now.i have moved him and his brother to another cage but it is close to their moms cage.will they be alright? they are  eating on their own and they drink from the water bottle.i don't want babies this soon asthey are only 2 weeks old.

Answer
Nancy,

The boys will be fine, as they are already eating and drinking on their own. When they reach three weeks you may want to move the boys' cage further away from mom and sister's cage as Guinea Pigs are known for getting a female pregnant even through they are in separate cages next to each other. But you won't have to worry about that until the boys are both fully sexually mature at 3 weeks.

Other then that they boys will be fine and with the two of them together they won't get lonely.

Take Care Now,
