Question
Hi Andy,
I want to make sure our guinea pig is getting the right foods.  She seems picky.  In the morning I give her spinach lettuce (maybe about 8 small leaves of it.  Also her regular food.  One baby carrot.  Her regular food I give her as much as she will eat.  At night I give her more of her regular food so she has it for over night.  I give her more spinach lettuce a slice of an apple and a handful of alfalfa.  I just want to know is their anything else I should be feeding her.  I do have the treat sticks for her.  But she is not interested in them.  It seems like if anything is to hard for her to bite she doesn't like it.  Also I put vitimin C in her water.  She also has the salt wheel and she is not interested in it.  I have the sticks and the salt wheel in her cage.  How long can I keep them in there?  I am hopeing maybe one of these days she might eat it.  Thanks again.  I hope to hear from you soon.

Answer
Hi Joanne

Keep lettuce to a minimum. Give celery, carrots, cabbage, cucumber, grapes, apple, banana, almost any veggies. If she doesn't like what you give her, leave it in her bowl for a little longer than normal. she will eat it eventually.

also, don't keep filling food bowl up, as guinea pigs will eat until they burst. One meal of veggies, one meal of dry mix and a little for over night is fine.

If she is not interested in the salt lick or treats, I would take them out and try them again in a few weeks.
